Matina Kaiafa holds a diploma in Classical Ballet (R.A.D./level Advanced 1) and Modern Theatre Dance (I.S.T.D./level Advanced 2-Distinction). In parallel, she studied contemporary dance, contact partnering and improvisation with Konstantinos Gerardos (‘Flow in Motion’ technique) in Thessaloniki (Greece). The last four years, Matina is based in between Berlin and Athens, while she continues her training in technique and improvisation: Judith Sánchez Ruíz, M. M. Colusi, Stella Zannou, Maya M. Caroll, Edivaldo Ernesto, among others. In parallel she studies Acting in Drama School of Municipality of Agia Varvara ‘Iakovos Kambanellis’.
As a performer/dancer or actress of different companies, she has collaborated with various artists in performances of which the most recent are: One T(w)o One (Larissa/2022/Matina Kaiafa & Eva Leemans) , The Fall of the House of Usher (based in the original text by E. A. Poe/online/2022/arranged by Oliver Schroeder), Wilde Spring: Salome (online/2021/ Provisional Players), One T(w)o One (Berlin/2019/Matina Kaiafa & Eva Leemans), Vitals (Berlin/2019/Matina Kaiafa & Keisuke Sugawara), Improvisation on Stage (Berlin/2019/Alberto Fiori live set & Mundart Dance Company), Getto krakowskie (Krakow/2018), Pop Up Dance & Performance (Thessaloniki/2018), Medea (Thessaloniki/2017/ Animotus Dance Company), Worlds in War (Thessaloniki/2017/Ubu Art Crew) and participated in several festivals. Alongside with dance, Matina received also a BA and a MA in Archaeology.
